โGet Ready for Flyersโ is the third level in a three-level series of textbooks designed to prepare children for the Cambridge English Qualifications for Young Learners, which include Pre-A1 Starters, A1 Movers, and A2 Flyers.
The course is suitable for children aged 10โ12 years old and serves as a solid foundation for those working toward the A2 Flyers level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
It aims to build learnersโ confidence and competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while providing a reliable indication of their progress in English.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Remember essential Flyers vocabulary, grammar, and functional language commonly used in the test.
- Understand listening recordings and reading texts by identifying main ideas, details, and task requirements.
- Apply learned language to complete Flyers-style tasks in Listening, Reading & Writing, and Speaking papers.
- Analyze question types and recognize patterns in the Flyers test to choose correct answers confidently.
- Evaluate their performance and correct mistakes using teacher and peer feedback.
- Create clear and accurate spoken and written answers, such as short stories, descriptions, and dialogues, just like in the Flyers exam.

We cover all four core skills required for the Cambridge Flyers exam, ensuring a well-rounded and complete learning experience.
Listening
Students can understand simple spoken English in common classroom and everyday situations.
Students use listening to gain basic knowledge of the landscape, culture, and people of English-speaking countries (and other countries).
Speaking
Students can communicate in simple English and make the interlocutor understand by adding small details.
At this level, students may hesitate, cut ideas short, and find it difficult to rephrase their thoughts.
Reading
Students can understand short, simple texts on learned topics.
Students learn more vocabulary and broaden their general knowledge through reading.
Writing
Students can write words or sentences on learned/familiar topics.
Students can find and rewrite the correct words and sentence patterns on familiar topics.

Course Structure
The course includes 12 Units and 3 Revision Lessons, covering all Flyers (A2) skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. After each Revision Lesson, youโll take a Mini Review Test to check your progress and finish the course with a Full Flyers Mock Exam that simulates the real Cambridge test.

Understand how youโll be tested and whatโs required to complete the course successfully.
- ๐จ After every 2 Units: Complete a Project Task (video, poster, or recording) to apply what youโve learned creatively.
- ๐ After every 4 Units: Take a Mini Review Test โ a Flyers-style test covering Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
- ๐ At the end of the course: Take the Final Mock Flyers Exam โ a full simulation of the real Cambridge Flyers test (16 parts).
- Finish all 12 units and 3 revision tests.
- Submit all 3 project tasks and the final mock exam.
- Maintain at least 80% attendance and complete assigned tasks.
- Achieve an overall score of 70% or higher.
